Thanks for the platform your blog has provided for us. I’m a huge fan and God bless you for this. I have been a Bv for a long while now and my brother too (introduced him to it), tho he ain’t a steady one. I just need an honest and sincere advices from you and fellow blog visitors.
It’s about my brother (only sibling) actually. He did diploma in Business Administration and he’s currently running a 4yr course on same Business Administration as a level 1 student. He’s going to 21 years old soon and he already sees himself as a man.
He wants to drop out of school and he’s serious but hasn’t made up his mind finally. Reasons being that, my dad is late and things are not so good with my mum catering for us alone. The stress and everything is getting to us plus my mum and my brother are really more close…(lol ..
I was with my dad until we lost him) and he hates seeing her stressed out or trying to cater for us. I’m two years older tho.. We talked about it and he doesn’t buy the idea of me dropping out, reasons that I’m a girl and it will be tougher for me. We actually have an Uncle staying outside Nigeria who helps out now and then, but my brother is the type that doesn’t like depending on others (I too lol.. love the concept of having my own money too and spoiling my mum since my dad is late) . He wants to drop out for now, hustle and take care of things, when things are comfortable enough (we believe and hope so) , he will go back and do part time.
He intends to talk to my uncle about it before telling my mum (we don’t know how she will take it and we want to make sure we have something tangible for substitution). I kinda see some sense in it, considering the state of things regarding unemployment in Nigeria. But I’m really afraid of what the future will hold for us if we take this step. I just need advice.. We want un diluted advices from you guys…
Is it okay or advisable to drop out now, hustle and go back later…or should he not?. My dad family are already hitting that he will marry early as per only son… my brother is going to be around 25 plus before he graduates and starts ‘hustling ‘ before settling down. We are just confuse.
