Much has been made of the inflated nature of the recently-closed summer transfer window, after PSG splashed out a record-smashing 222 million Euro to sign Neymar from Barcelona, along with agreeing to pay 180 million Euro for Kylian Mbappe next summer.

Barcelona themselves also brought Ousmane Dembele to the Camp Nou for a fee which could rise to 150 million Euro, while the likes of Manchester United and Manchester City also flexed their financial muscle with big-money additions.

As per the aforementioned report from the CIES Football Observatory, updated figures showcasing the most expensive squads in Europe have since been released, with 6 Premier League clubs appearing in the top 10.

Surprisingly, even with their addition of Neymar and counting the 180 million Euro that they will be forced to fork out next summer on Mbappe, PSG still don’t possess the title of highest-spenders in Europe.

That title is reserved for Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City, who, after adding the likes of Bernardo Silva, Kyle Walker and Benjamin Mendy this summer, have seen the+/- value of their squad rise to a massive 853 million Euro.
