With all the excitement surrounding transfer deadline day, you might not have noticed that some actual football took place on Thursday night.

One of the most intriguing 2018 World Cup qualifiers was hosted at the Stade de France, where France went head-to-head against the Netherlands.

Les Bleus, with their array of stars, recorded a comfortable 4-0 victory over the Dutch in Saint-Denis with the goals coming from Antoine Griezmann, Thomas Lemar (2) and Kylian Mbappe.

Paul Pogba, who has enjoyed an excellent start to the 2017-18 campaign with Manchester United, also started and ended up playing the full 90 minutes.

The result means France have taken another step towards booking their place at next summer’s World Cup finals in Russia. The Netherlands, however, find themselves fourth in Group A with just three qualifiers left to play.

In the 80th minute, though, with France 2-0 up, he decided to have some fun against his Man Utd teammate Daley Blind.

Faced up against the Dutch full-back, Pogba tried his best to get Blind to dive into a challenge.

He ended up keeping the ball for a full 20 seconds while Blind shadowed him, waiting patiently and making sure his club teammate couldn’t beat him with skill.
