The Lawmaker Representing Obowo State Constituency in the Imo State House of Assembly Hon. Kennedy Ibeh on Wednesday inaugurated the ever First Bank of Nigeria Agency Banking in Obowo his constituency ,Obowo Local Government Area ,Imo state in a bid to promote investment and enhance ease of doing business for his people.
Speaking to journalists shortly after the inauguration exercise with a team of first bank officials, led by Mr. Henry Ogu the area manager First Bank of Nigeria , Barr. Ibeh said ,”Today is a special day for me as a House Member Representing Obowo State Constituency.
What we are doing is not reflective of my position, it is something that I would could also have done in my personal capacity.
I am glad that you are here despite your tight schedule and various political leanings to be part of this historical event ”
The youthful and vibrant lawmaker pointed out that Obowo can now boast of connecting to the world with the establishment of an ultra modern ICT center, which has been duly completed of which he is grateful to His Excellency Rochas Okorocha
People can now connect to any part of the world from Obowo council area,he averred.
He further disclosed that his team is working hard and soon would educate, equip and empower youths on how to take advantage of this opportunities”
He made it known that soon we would be flagging off “Farm Now Initiative ”
“The program is meant to educate, equip and empower our farmers.
The programme is meant to encourage agriculture at the grassroots. We ought to change our negative perception about agriculture and see it as a business venture”
The legal practitioner turned legislature called on Obowo people to ensure that they consider the interest of their people by making the right choices .
According to him, ” Very soon we shall be conducting the Local Government Area Election and Congresses .
I wish to seize this platform to enjoin our people to leave their arm chairs criticism and go and register.
We need our Permanent Voters Cards to be relevant in the scheme of things in this country.
The way to go is not to walk in foolishness. We must work with statistics and properly align ourselves to the main stream. ”
” Anytime that I have opportunity of speaking with my people, I would always ensure that I speak the truth.
His Excellency Rochas Okorocha , the Governor is the leader of Apc in southeast. It is therefore important that we align ourselves with his vision.
We single handely fought in 2015 and today Obowo, Imo are all part of the ruling party APC.
Back then all sort of names were called our people but we can not afford to always play opposition.
What we as a people should be concerned with in our interest come 2019 .what should be the benefit of Obowo people?That is the most important issue on the table.
Our son Hon Dcn Chike Okafor has been following His Excellency Owelle Anayo Okorocha for a long time. It was Hon Dcn Chike that made Obowo people to realize what true representation is at the National Assembly even as a first timer.
Now, is our time to work as to ensure that he is re-elected. So as to be a ranking member, which would be the best thing to happen to Obowo”
The lawmaker also spoke at length on issue of ranking. It’s implication, importance And urged the people to massively vote to ensure Obowo sons are reelected so as to continue with uncommon representation.
As ranking members at State and Federal House of Assembly, we can be sure that there would be more dividends of democracy in Obowo
