Nigeria took a big step towards qualifying for the 2018 World Cup, with a comprehensive 4-0 win over Cameroon on Friday, at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.

The Super Eagles went into the break with a two-goal lead. Captain John Obi Mikel Obi combined brilliantly with Odion Ighalo, for the former Watford striker to open scoring, before he converted Victor Moses’ corner-kick with a minute left.

In the second half, Moses finished off a streaking counter-attack to make it 3-0.
Kelechi Iheanacho rounded off scoring with 13 minutes left.

Nigeria remain top of Group B with 9 points, seven more than the Indomitable Lions, who they travel to Yaounde to face in the reverse leg on Monday.
