Following public outcry, Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State, yesterday, cancelled September, 5 as deadline to stop tricycle operators within the capital city.
The governor, disclosed this through a release issued to newsmen in Owerri. It will be recalled that Okorocha gave September, 5 as deadline for tricycle operators not to operate within the Owerri metropolis.
But according to the release, “The Governor of the state, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has rescinded the earlier directive that keke operators would cease to operate in certain designated areas in the state capital, Owerri as from Tuesday, September 5, 2017, and has given them upto the end of September to comply.
“The keke operators in the state capital will continue to function till Saturday, September 30, 2017. “The governor said all he is doing is to make the state better than he met it in the overall interest of the people and those yet unborn, and not for any personal gain.”
