Following the forceful demolition of Eke Ukwu Owere against court orders which led to the brutal murder of young Somtochukwu and many others, that the people of OWERRI zone have declared operation end of OKOROCHA’S callous and barbaric actions meted on the people of Owerri zone and OWERRI federal constituency in particular.
In a gathering organized by the people of the zone which is on-going, the people of OWERRI condemned OKOROCHA’S actions which was described as inhumanity to the Owere man regardless of their hospitality.
The elders “OHA” of Owere Nchi Ise at the grave side of the founding fathers of Owere Ekwem Arugo of the 14th century, however called on the ancestors of the land to rise against any inhumanity against his generation and the people of Owere by the government of lmo state led by Rochas Okorocha.
In his speech, Barr Ken Njemanze(SAN) assured the people of OWERRI zone that all legal means and right steps will be taken to ensure that justice prevails.
He further noted that adequate compensation of damages to the displaced victims must be paid pointing out that every agency involved in the brutality must be brought to book.
However, Owere people resolved that Eke Ukwu Owere must stay and can not be relocated whether Rochas Okorocha likes it or not.
