Yesterday, marked the Constitutional limit to the 8th Senate of the National Assembly. It was a goodbye for many who weren’t Re-elected and Senator, Sam Daddy Anyanwu was one of those.
The Senator took his his social media handle to share an emotional goodbye while reminding his supporters that his career isn’t over yet. See below…
As we come to the end of the 8th Senate of the National Assembly, I would like to humbly thank God for according me the privilege and honour of serving my people of Imo East Senatorial District (Owerri Zone). I would also like to appreciate the entire people of Owerri zone who gave me their mandate for the past four years.
To the best of my ability, i have served you; but with all sense of responsibility, I crave your forgiveness for any shortcomings and beckon on all of you to know that my passion to serve humanity is far from over, by the special grace of God; hopefully, giving me the opportunity to keep improving from good to best. Hence, I plan on still serving humanity beyond the 8th Assembly.
For my supporters, I remain grateful and loyal to the trust you have always bestowed on me. I will forever cherish the love, support and prayers you continue to offer me.
May God continue to bless you all.
In this sojourn I have worked with dedicated men and women who jointly believed in the greatness of our beloved nation. I therefore thank my colleagues for the camaraderie and the professionalism they’ve offered me irrespective of party lines, religious affliliations, ethnic and regional boundaries.
