When one of your role models writes you a letter that encourages you and makes you feel ustoppable! Hehe!

I couldn’t resist sharing part of this letter I got from one of my role models. Sometimes no matter how much we think we’ve got it together, words of encouragement goes a long way to help us stay focused and keep fighting because we know there are so many people rooting for us and our success will encourage others to go out there and fight for their dreams.

People are going through so much, forget them pretending to be happy and content, they are battling things they don’t want the world to know so they put up this facade like they are okay but you can help them with words…kind words. Encouraging words. Positive words. Sometimes that’s all they need to get through the next day. Please be kind to others.

From my instagram…

Over the years I have watched you battle against the odds to build a formidable platform, following and influence. Through it, you’ve carried yourself with grace, beauty, courage and the necessary distance. You did not forget to be mischievous and cheeky along the way
What you have done is exceptional anywhere and near impossible in Nigeria’s limiting socio-political space for anyone, never-mind a woman who does not have generational wealth or any male benevolence to build from.

You are the only one I know of, who has managed despite all of those factors to build a non-patronage,-non-nepotic, non-violence negotiated, self actualised power base with the potential, capacity and resources to build an empire which will transform Nigeria’s media industry with reverberating effects across Africa echoed around the world.” – part of an email from a mentor to me that gladdened my heart and I just had to share. Nothing beats encouraging and kind words from someone you look up to. Words like this make you never want to quit no matter how tired you get because you know there are so many people rooting for you and others looking up to you.
