The 8th edition of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup being held in Papua New Guinea entered its 12th day today as the Super Falconets of Nigeria defeated Canada 3-1 at the Bava Park in Port Moresby. Nigeria had earlier lost her opening match 6-nil to Japan hence making today’s three points important.
Canada’s Carle scored in the 15th minute before Falconets’ Uchendu converted from the spot to make it 1-1 right before half time. Further strikes from Bokiri in the 46th minute and Ihezuo in the 73th minute cemented the Falconets’ victory. Nigeria’s next match is against Spain on Sunday.
