A popular disc jockey in Abuja has been left devastated after a professional colleague on Tuesday fled with his equipment worth over N200,000 at Dakibiu Village in Jabi area of the federal capital city.
Martins Valentine, also known as DJ Valley, who has been doing gigs around the capital city for eight years, is asking for public help in tracking down the alleged thief.

According to Mr. Valentine, his ordeal started when he agreed to lend the equipment to Amos Kani for a gig.

“We took the equipment to the venue of the said show so I could help him set it up. Unfortunately, I forgot the speaker wire at home. Before I returned to the venue with the wire, I couldn’t find Amos or my equipment anywhere around”, he told PREMIUM TIMES.

“It was people around that told me that as I left, he hurriedly packed the equipment into a car and left. I’ve since been trying his number but it is switched off.”

Mr. Valentine said when he went to the local police station in Dakibiu to report the incident, he was told that the officer in charge was not around.

He said he was advised to return to the station the following day (Wednesday) with a letter to the FCT police command headquarters so that the suspect could be declared wanted.

According to DJ Valley, all efforts to track down the suspect had proved abortive.
