“This record was really fun to make,” Mr Eazi said. “It’s crazy how it went from hearing a K4mo intro in the studio with Fred Again, to me jumping on it and then Diplo hopping in. And Walshy hitting me up to say it’s a banger, next thing Nicki is on it. Been a journey really, like two years in the making and I can’t wait to perform it at my next festival.”

Mr Eazi said the single was influenced by Black Uhuru and Baby Cham’s reggae songs. The song is a fusion of dancehall, Afrobeats and electronic dance music. Something Else is expected to be released in October and follows Mr Eazi’s 2020 EP One Day You Will Understand, which was released in June.

Meanwhile, Nigerian musician Davido has also released the music video for ‘FEM’. ‘FEM’ is a Nigerian street slang for ‘be quiet’, and is Davido’s first single in 2020. The video was directed by Nigeria’s Dammy Twitch and was taken off Davido’s forthcoming album A Better Time, which is due for release in October.

Commenting on the album, which will be his third offering, Davido said: “Just being at home for so long, I made some changes. I cut off some people, I just stepped away from the world a little bit. Just tried to realise who I really was. And I feel like that’s what helped my music. It’s all because of the pandemic.”
